- Thank you for the pointing out that a cause may not have to do with neglegance by the owner at all. - You make it sound like just because they don't have a large, permanently staffed, paid FD that there isn't any help to be had. That is far from true as there are a number of small town VFD and larger FD like Waco that are willing to respond to an emergency if needed.

- I was in the hosptital for a week one time suffering through a sad, tragic ordeal that changed my life forever. My in-laws gave me and my husband the "Everything happens for the best" comment and then blamed us when they chose not to be around us afterward.

- Genetics have a lot to do with a baby's growth pattern. Big babies aren't unusual in my family. My 85 yr old grandfather was 10 lb and 25 in long at birth. He grew into a very tall and sturdy toddler and a tall, 6" 4", lanky adult.

No. It’s entirely subjective. Every child is different.
- Parents are different too. Many parents spoil their children. Others install good, down to earth values that result in well adjusted kids.
- This is a parenting issue. Many people spoil their children because they can or it is easier than setting limits and parenting (I have seen both). The same scenario is seen in youngest children (He/she is my baby, ect) and older chilren (He/she is my good/special child, ect).
Gifting gone wild: Can kids get too much at the holidays?
Yes. The pile of presents gets crazy and overwhelming and the kids really can't appreciate it all.
